Portland Red Triangle amassed 273 against Lytchett Minster at
a thundery Upton Rec. thanks in part to a quick-fire blast from
the enigmatic Jon Dixon (84) and Dave Blackman (46no).
The pair came together at 116-6 in this NSA Sunday Division 6
clash with 200 looking unlikely. However, Dixon soon found his range
and peppered the boundaries with ten fours and four sixes. Together
with wicketkeeper Blackman, the former Weymouth star got the islanders
up to an impressive total that the hosts never looked like reaching.
Lytchett's reply was strangled by the opening spells of Rhys
Davey (1-14) and Scott Males (2-10) who proved impossible to get
away on a lively artificial wicket. Ben Doidge (3-30) and Dixon
(2-1) ensured Triangle kept up their unbeaten record too top Division
6 with Minster folding to 124 all out.
