Milton Abbas U12's won by  4 runs
Match Report

Once again a good crowd of supporters gathered at Redlands to watch a thrilling match played out by two evenly matched teams.

P.R.T's captain Simon Proffitt won the toss and elected to field, his decision soon reaped rewards as after 4 overs Milton Abbas had struggled to 24-3 against some excellent bowling and fielding. The number three batsman then exploited some poor fielding to reach a fine 25 as Milton Abbas finished their innings on 110-5. Captain Simon 3-19, M. Randell 1-27 and Harry Stone 1-16 all bowled well as Portland in only their second game showed great improvement in the field.

Portland's reply began well with Simon and Matthew Randell batting well and keeping up with the run rate. With a change of bowling the game swung back in favour of Milton Abbas as Portland lost 3 quick wickets against some very accurate bowling. Harry Stone and Scott Wallace stuck to the task and with one ball left needed 4 runs to tie the match. It was not to be as Harry was run out and Portland had lost an exciting contest which was played in a great manner by both teams.

Coach Neven said, "It was a shame that either side had to lose and both sets of players were a credit to their clubs. Our boys fought well and have improved beyond expectations"

Coach Neven's Man Of The Match: Simon Proffitt.
