| Portland Red Triangle U16's vs. Dorchester U16's |
| Played At Redlands, 7-January-2006 |
| PRT U16's lost by 120 runs |
| Match Report | Once again a good crowd was at Redlands to see P.R.T U16's take on Dorchester U16's. Portland's Captain Aaron Riley won the toss and put Dorchester into bat. In the first over an excellent combination of fielding skills between Aaron and Wicketkeeper Joel Maisey resulted in a run out and brought to the wicket the Dorchester number 3. Despite some excellent bowling and fielding the big hitting Dorchester squad lost only one more wicket as they amassed a formidable 201-2 in their allocated overs. Portland's reply began slowly and after the loss of Richie Samuels in the 2nd over with the score on 21 Portland were always struggling against the accurate bowling of a much more experienced side. Despite fine efforts from the remaining Portland Batsman which included a fine 33 from Daniel Strong Portland were all out in the final over for a valiant 81. Coach Neven said' this was a great effort against a side with far more experience. I have spoken with all our team and they have all learnt valuable lessons from today, they can all hold their heads up high as they fought well against an impressive Dorchester side.
