Bridport won by 77 runs
Match Report by Club Chairman Glyn Bartholomew

For those who choose to watch cricket rather than do Xmas shopping there were good skills on display. Bridport won the toss and their decision to bat was justified by an excellent opening partnership from S. Challis and S. Good who both retired after scoring 25. This was followed by a quick 8 for M. Bray who was run out and retirement on 25 for A. Nichols after a well put together innings. W. Lewis caught and bowled by Triangle's Luke Hallet on 9.

S. Good returned from retirement to hit two crashing sixes. Extras were top score to give a total of 165 for 2. There was an economical bowling performance from Ollie Whisker and Luke Hallett fought back from a disappointing first over to bowl well at the death.

There was a contrasting start from the Portland openers with both Dan Strong and Simon Proffit being run out for low scores trying ambitious singles. Ollie Whisker was then run out after backing up too far for 0 and was indicated to everyone how annoyed he was to be out.

Alan Chappel steadied the batting but found it difficult to score and was stumped for 1. The Bridport bowling was tight and the fielding excellent. Callan Laws was the pick of the batsmen with a unbeaten 23 and only found scoring difficult against the leg spin of M. Bray. Luke Hallett came out to show a gritty innings for 2 and was eventually run out in the run chase. This left the Portland total at 88 for 4 with extras almost identical to the Bridport total.

Chairman's Man of the Match: Callan Laws
