| Portland Red Triangle U16 vs Bridport U16 |

| Match Report by Glyn Bartholomew |
Portland batted first with openers Callan Laws and Simon Proffitt out cheaply. Jordan Pring and Matt Randell batted for a steady partnership and with some wayward bowling helping to keep the score ticking over. When Jordan Pring was bowled by R.Jones, Ollie Whisker who was delayed getting to the match, tried to hit out but couldn’t get the strike. Portland ended on a defendable total of 94 for 3. The pick of the bowlers was E.Halson with 3 overs, 1 wicket for 12. Bridports reply was quickly ahead of the run rate. They continued to score briskly even after Callan Laws bowled R.Jones for 16 and the run outs of R.Condliffe for 14 and W.Lewis for 3. T.Craddock kept up the scoring rate to amass 16 helped by E.Halson ‘s 0 not out until they overhauled the Portland total in the 9th over to finish on 95 for 3. Bridport were too strong for a Portland side with players more at home in the under 14’s although not too far away from what is expected in under 16’s. |
