THOSE PEOPLE UP NORTH.
Well folks a recent visit up North (Dorchester),so battered the senses of yours truly that I felt a few observations had to be relayed onwards for your education and by way of a warning to any who are thinking of taking a trip there
Dorchester is a small market town, with let's be honest, not a lot going for it. So why 'o' why do the inhabitants seem to think that they are a cut above the rest of us mortals?
Perhaps it is a little unfair to put the entire population of that little town all in the same box, I did meet one or two locals who did seem to have grasped the basics of manners, conversation and the joy of being alive. The staff in the real, yes real Cornish Pastie Shop all were polite, courteous and willing to engage in conversation.
As for the rest, is it my fault that you are all miserable? NO!
Is it my fault that you cannot grasp the basic of our native tongue? You want a person to move or make way a simple excuse me will do — a grunt, followed by a shove and a glare is not the best way to make friends.
Just because you live in a town, it doesn't follow that you have the right to drive like you own the road, when turning left or right for that matter please use your indicators, so that the rest of us mortals have some idea of what you intend to do. After all it will cut out minor accidents, noise pollution from blaring horns and sore throats as a result of a few loud and heated words.
To their shame the majority of offenders can only be described as in their twilight years. So just for you here are a few comments:
- Try to be courteous, manners as they say don't cost anything, they may even set a good example to your grandchildren.
- Try to cheer up, if you are still able to walk and talk, you still have time to enjoy life.
- If you are that blind, don't drive and put the rest of the us in danger.
- If you are that unhappy with were you live MOVE.
And finally show some respect to the younger generations, they are not all dropouts and deadbeats, they are not all on drugs, most do have respect for your generation, after all you are someone's parent or grandparent.
But most of all try to stay indoors when I next visit.
The season is now nearly upon us so remember, to enjoy your cricket, play within the laws and support your captain.
Love, Peace and Anarchy
Stumps.
