Portland Red Triangle and All Saints School are hoping
to discover the next Freddie Flintoff. The two have combined to agree a partnership that
will involve the use of Wyke Regis school's new sports
hall to provide coaching opportunities on a regular
basis. The scheme is part of Triangle's planned development
of their facilities and boosting of links with the community.
Club secretary Grant Neven said: "The club are
excited by the opportunities that this partnership will
present. Over the last couple of years Portland Red
Triangle has worked hard to take cricket into local
schools and this partnership, along with our existing
one at Royal Manor Arts College, helps us do just that."
The first coaching session will take place tomorrow
at All Saints School and they will continue throughout
the school year in term time until Easter. Sessions run from 6pm-8pm and are free and open to
anyone over the age of 10 regardless of ability.
Neven added: "We look forward to the sessions
which will provide the chance for those already involved
in cricket to practice and improve their skills. They also provide the opportunity for those
wishing to take up the game a chance to develop the
skills needed."
All sessions will be manned by qualified coaches
and club members. For further details contact Grant Neven on 01305-750490.
